Rahul Kapoor, MD, is a part of the Springfield Clinic's Ophthalmology Department and sees patients at Springfield Clinic Main Campus West.
Dr. Kapoor earned his medical degree from Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, N.Y. He completed his ophthalmology residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia University in New York City, N.Y.
Dr. Kapoor's interest in science and desire to help people led him directly to his career in medicine. "I always had a desire to help others and make a positive impact in their lives," he says. "I am privileged to be a doctor and to have the opportunity to make a positive impact on my patients' lives."
Dr. Kapoor is excited to practice in central Illinois and is looking forward to building a stronger, more supportive community as an ophthalmologist. "Vision is such a critical aspect of our daily experience, and I want to help people preserve and improve their sight."
When he is not working, Dr. Kapoor enjoys staying active through endurance sports like running, biking and swimming. He also likes exploring new places and cultures through traveling.
