Dr. Matthew Evans provides care with the radiology department. "I was led to become a doctor by my desire to work in a field that benefits my community as well as one that is challenging and ever advancing," he says.

"Radiology in some ways is the heart of medicine. Most patients have diagnostic imaging at some point in their lives," he says. "I wanted to be a part of this central aspect of patient care."

Dr. Evans earned his medical degree from and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Prior to joining Springfield Clinic, Dr. Evans completed a fellowship in abdominal imaging at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wis.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and fiancée, playing board games, hiking and camping.
