Emily believes that a career in health care always chose her. “I was a young child, I took an interest in caring for people which grew into a passion which led to a very fulfilling career,” she says. “I did a health occupations program when I was a senior in high school and shadowed a nurse practitioner for a month at Runde Clinic. Since then I loved nursing and the idea of becoming a nurse practitioner was always a dream.”

Emily has a soft spot for pediatric care from her time as a nurse in pediatric critical care. But she truly enjoys taking care of the “family” practice patients and caring for patients throughout all stages in life.

Emily earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Maryville University in St. Louis. She completed her undergraduate degree at St. John’s College of Nursing in Springfield. She joined Runde Clinic in June 2021, previously serving as an APRN for HSHS Shelbyville Family Medicine.

In her free time, Emily enjoys anything outdoors including fishing, gardening and canning along with camping.
