Our certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) are committed to ensuring your experience at Springfield Clinic's Ambulatory Surgery & Endoscopy Center is safe and comfortable. In collaboration with the anesthesiologists, surgeon and assisting surgical team members, CRNAs work to provide the most successful medical outcome for each patient.
The anesthesiologist's role
When you come to the Ambulatory Surgery & Endoscopy Center for a procedure, your anesthesiologist will begin with a thorough pre-operative evaluation and consultation with the surgical team. The team carefully coordinates your anesthetic needs, your response to the medication and the requirements of the surgery. During the procedure, the anesthesiologist provides pain control medication and supervises life-support functions. In addition, the anesthesiologist and/or CRNA provides continual medical assessment. Following surgery, the anesthesiologist ensures you fully emerge from the effects of the anesthesia and regain full consciousness.
The utmost concern of the anesthesiology team is your safety and comfort before, during and after an experience at Springfield Clinic's Ambulatory Surgery & Endoscopy Center.
